Former Gestapo Agent Goes On Trial

EXCERPT: "STUTTGART, Germany (AP) - A 79-year-old former Gestapo agent
who has confessed to shooting 500 people at a Nazi concentration camp
went before a court today for what could be the last major war crimes
trial in Germany. Alfons Goetzfried is charged with assisting the
murder of 17,000 people, mostly Jews, at the Majdanek concentration
camp in Poland on Nov. 3, 1943. He was taken into investigative
