1941

Protestant Evangelical Church leaders ... collectively
issued an official proclamation which declared the Jews to
be incapable of being saved by baptism, owning to their
racial constitution, to be responsible for the war, and to
be "born enemies of the world and Germany." (Goldhagen, 112)

1944

During the Battle of the Bulge, 125 captured U.S. soldiers
are massacred at Malmedy, Belgium, by members of the Battle
Group Peiper of the First SS Panzer Division. (USHMM, 1994, p. 70)
