1930

The Nazi Party collected 6.4 million votes in the national
election, or 18.3 percent of the votes cast. They won 107 of
the 577 Reichstag seats. (Goldhagen, 86)

1943

Twenty-four Jews are deported from Merano, Italy, to
Auschwitz, marking the first deportation of Jews from Italy.

The Gestapo in Vilna executes Jacob Gens, chairman of the

Switzerland decides that all male refugees above the age of
sixteen are to be returned to their countries of origin.
