A storm makes rescure difficult, and more than 350 Romanian refugees perish, with only a handful surviving. The Turkish SS Bulbul, part of the same three-boat convoy and carrying 405 other refugees, picks up the few survivors. All the refugees are taken to Igneada, Turkey, and eventually reach Palestine.
