1940

65 prisoners from the Montelupi prison in Cracow, sent to
Auschwitz by the head of the Cracow Security Police and Security
Service, were assigned serial numbers 1355 through 1419. Each
received a "greeting" (Begruessung) of 25 lashes. (Czech et al,
p. 123)

1943

Himmler orders the replacement of all Vilna ghetto laborers
working outside the ghetto by non-Jews and the liquidation
of the ghetto. (USHMM 1993, 39)
