1943

The German foreign ministry representative in the
Netherlands reports that 102,000 of the 140,000 Dutch Jews
"have been removed from the body of the populace." (USHMM
1943, 37)

1944

A report about the liquidation of the "Theresienstadt
family camp" in Auschwitz-Birkenau is filed at the British
embassy in Switzerland by a representative of the
Czechoslovak government-in-exile in Geneva. It is forwarded
to London and Washington with a request that Allied air
forces bomb the gas chambers and that Germany be threatened
with collective reprisals. (USHMM 1994, 47)
