The prison administrator at Minsk reports:

"The German, former dentist Ernst Israel Tichauer and
his wife ... were delivered to the Court-Prison by the
SD on 13 April... [Since then] the golden bridgework,
crowns and fillings of the received German and Russian
Jews were pulled out, respectively broken out by force.
This always happened 1-2 hours before the actions in
     question.

"Since [April 13], 516 German and Russian Jews were
liquidated. ...About 50 percent of the Jews had gold
teeth, bridges or fillings. Hauptscharfuehrer Rube of
the SD ...took the gold objects with him." (R-135) (NCA
     II, 274-5)
