Goebbels calls off a final deportation of Jews from Berlin
because of public German protests at a Jewish home for the
aged. He orders the Security Police to wait a few weeks
before making another attempt. (USHMM 1993, p. 26)

Catholic Archbishop Stepinac of Croatia protests the killing
of Jews married to Christians. The Croatian dictator Ante
Pavelic yields, but the killing of other Croatian Jews
continues. (Ibid.)
