The German Security Police (Sipo) request that the Italians
assist them in enlarging the Fossoli transit camp because of
the growing number of prisoners interned there. (USHMM 1994, 30)

A transport of 1,390 prisoners, mostly Latvians and
Russians, is sent from Stutthof concentration camp to
Mauthausen concentration camp. (Ibid.)
