1937

Martin Bormann issues Decree which excludes clergymen and
theology students from membership in the Nazi Party (840-PS). (NCA II, 899)

1944

The representative of the German Foreign Ministry in the
Hague reports that to date 108,000 Jews have "left" the
country and that the population does not approve of the
deportation of Jews and considers it brutal. Church circles
are reported to be especially active in promoting this
attitude. (USHMM, 1994. Pg. 28)
