It also shows that you have to check each and every single claim that they make, even implied ones. So if a holocaust revisionists greets you with "nice weather today, isn't it?" you better make damn sure to go check for yourself ;-). The pamphlet mentioned in passing that there was no way that 1000 people per hour could have been gassed in the Auschwitz gas chambers. On my first pass I had not looked at this figure more closely, wanting to focus on the errors Ole quoted further down. But it's worth taking a closer look at that figure. Why did the author of the pamphlet mention it? He(?) is trying to disprove that 6 million Jews could have been killed by the Germans in the twelve years of Nazi rule. So, presumably, that figure is some estimate as to how many Jews MUST have been gassed at Auschwitz per hour in order for the 6 million figure to be reached. So, let's take a closer look: 1000 victims per hour translates to 8000 victims per 8 hour working day. That in turn translates to 48000 victims in a six day working week. From that we get a figure of 2016000 victims in a year with 42 working weeks, which gives us an ample two and a half months for refurbishments and repairs which cannot be effected in the off-hours of a normal working day. - The figure quoted above would mean that a single gas chamber at Auschwitz Birkenau would have been able to "process" one third of all Jewish victims of our Nazi folly in just a single year. Clearly an unnecessary requirement in order for the 6 million figure to be credible. So, what's the point of mentioning the 1000 people per hour? Confound, confuse, cover up and disguise - revisionism at work! Ciao, HSK -- Holger Skok ITW, Uni Stuttgart email: skok@itw.uni-stuttgart.de phone: +49 711 685 3230
