Nazi Atomic Bombs
Part 2 of 3

In any case, Mr. Jackson's line of questioning was to learn whether: "The reports, then, of a new and secret weapon were exaggerated for the purpose of keeping the German people in the war?"

However, when this section of the Nuremberg trial transcript is quoted by Holocaust-deniers, that fact is always omitted. It is quoted out of context to make it seem as though Jackson was making an accusation against the Nazis of having killed Jews with nuclear weapons!

For example, a web page on both Greg Raven's web site and Bradley Smith's web site until early 1996 told its readers that "many of the claims documented at Nuremberg are no longer accepted by any reasonable historians. Many of these 'atrocities' have simply been forgotten about." It then quoted Justice Jackson as follows:

And certain experiments were also conducted and certain researches conducted in atomic energy... An experiment... was carried out near Auschwitz ... The purpose of the experiment was to find a quick and complete way of destroying people without the delay and trouble of shooting and gassing and burning, as it had been carried out, and this is the experiment, as I am advised. A village, a small village was provisionally erected, with temporary structures, and in it approximately 20,000 Jews were put. By means of this newly invented weapon of destruction, these 20,000 people were eradicated almost instantaneously, and in such a way that there was no trace.

"George Martin," early 1992:

A quote by Mr. Justice Jackson; "Now, I have certain information, which was placed in my hands, of an experiment which was carried out near Auschwitz... The purpose of the experiment was to find a quick and complete way of destroying people without the delay and trouble of shooting and gassing and burning, as it had been carried out, and this was the experiment...A small village was provisionally erected, with temporary stuctures, and in it approximately 20,000 Jews were put. By means of this newly invented weapon of destruction, these 20,000 people were eradicated almost instantaneously, and in such a way that there was no trace." This quote was made after mention of experiments by the Nazis in atomic energy. This was supposed to mean the Nazis blasted them to kingdom come by atomic bombs. [7]

It is instructive to flip back to the previous page and see what the ellipses obscure.
